The Old Dominion Monarchs and the UAB Blazers meet in college basketball action from Bartow Arena on Saturday.
Old Dominion enters this matchup at 13-17 so far. After dropping consecutive games to North Texas and Marshall, Old Dominion has won their last two outings versus Florida Atlantic and UT San Antonio.
In the win over UTSA, Old Dominion’s leading scorer was Anthony Oliver with 20 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Xavier Green had 19 points with three assists there, and Malik Curry chipped in 15 points, nine assists and three rebounds.
Over on the UAB side, they’re 17-13 this year. Across their last five games, UAB is 3-2, beating Marshall once and Middle Tennessee twice, and falling to Florida Atlantic and UTSA otherwise.
In the loss to UTSA, UAB’s leading scorer was Tyreek Scott-Grayson with 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists. The only other UAB player with double-digits there was Tavin Lovan with 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
UAB is 5-2 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss. The over is 5-2 in UAB’s last seven overall and 6-0 in their last six home games.
Meanwhile, Old Dominion is 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games and 6-2 ATS in their last seven road games. Old Dominion is 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and the under is 8-2 in their last 10 Saturday games.
Old Dominion has certainly turned things around over the last two games. After scoring a combined 113 points in the North Texas and Marshall games, ODU put up a combined 169 versus Florida Atlantic and UTSA. Overall, the Monarchs are scoring pretty well lately but they also have issues on defense here and there.
As for UAB, they’ve been pretty sporadic themselves, dropping 88 on Marshall and coming back with 59 versus UTSA. The Blazers are a pretty mixed bag; it just depends on the matchup. This one should be a higher-scoring affair than last time; I’m going with Old Dominion to cover in what should be a great game.
