The Miami RedHawks and the Buffalo Bulls meet in college basketball action from UB Alumni Arena on Monday.
Miami enters this MAC Tournament matchup at 12-19 overall. After winning consecutive games over Central Michigan and Bowling Green, Miami has lost their last pair to Buffalo and Ohio.
In the loss to Ohio, Miami’s leading scorer was Bam Bowman with 17 points, five rebounds and one assist. Dae Dae Grant added 13 points and two rebounds there, and Isaiah Coleman-Lands was also in double-figures on 11 points, four rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Buffalo side, they’re 20-11 this year. Buffalo dropped consecutive games to Ohio and Akron, but in their last pair they’ve recorded wins over Miami-OH and Bowling Green.
In the win over Bowling Green, Buffalo’s Jayvon Graves put up 25 points with two assists and five rebounds to lead the team. Josh Mballa doubled up there with 16 points, 12 rebounds and one assist, and Davonta Jordan added 16 points, four assists and three rebounds.
Buffalo is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five Monday games and 1-4-1 ATS in the last six home games. Buffalo is 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, Miami is 5-1 ATS in their last six Monday games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games. Miami is 6-2 ATS in the last eight overall and the under is 4-0 in the last four after an ATS loss.
Miami put up a couple of good offensive performances in the Central Michigan and Bowling Green games, totaling 149 points in that pair. Since then, Miami has been under 70 points in each of their last two games, and normally when the RedHawks stall out like that they’re not very successful.
As for Buffalo, they’ve been pretty permissive on defense lately, but they managed a 75-69 win over Miami the last time these teams met up. This one should be pretty competitive initially but I like Buffalo to pull away and cover. The number isn't great, but I think the Bulls can get there.
