The Line: North Dakota State Bison -1 -- Over/Under: 149.5
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and the North Dakota State Bison meet in a Summit League conference tournament semi-final matchup in college basketball action from the Denny Sanford Premier Center on Monday night.
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles come into this game fresh off of a 79-52 win over Omaha in their quarterfinal matchup on Sunday. Emmanuel Nzekwesi leads the Golden Eagles in scoring and rebounding by averaging a double-double per game with team-highs of 17.1 PPG and 10.2 RPG while Deandre Burns is 2nd in scoring with 15.3 PPG and Max Abmas is right behind with 14.7 PPG this season. Kevin Obanor is Oral Roberts’ 4th double-digit scorer, averaging 11.7 PPG this season. As a team, Oral Roberts is averaging 80.6 points on 44.9% shooting from the field, 33.7% from 3-point range and 74.9% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 73.7 points on 44.7% shooting from the field and 33.7% from 3-point range this season.
The North Dakota State Bison will look to advance to the conference in back-to-back years for the first time since 2013-16 after opening their tournament with a narrow 71-69 win over upset-minded Denver last time out. Vinnie Shahid leads NDSU in scoring and assists with 18.3 PPG and 3 APG while Tyson Ward has 16.6 PPG and a team-high 7.1 RPG this season. Rocky Kreuser is also contributing 10.3 PPG and 5.9 RPG for the Bison this season. As a team, North Dakota State is averaging 74.4 points on 44.7% shooting from the field, 35% from 3-point range and 79.7% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 66.4 points on 43.7% shooting from the field and 33.3% from 3-point range this season.
It makes me wonder a little bit if there's something I'm missing that the line is as low as it is, almost a pick 'em coming into this one. I mean Oral Roberts is scoring almost 91 points per game across their last 5, but the Golden Eagles have had issues taking that step up against the bigger teams in conference play away from home. I just think that North Dakota State is the better team here, so I'll lay the points with the Bison in this one.
