The Alabama A&M Bulldogs and the Prairie View A&M Panthers meet in college basketball action from Williams Nicks Building on Tuesday.
Coming into this SWAC Tournament matchup, Alabama A&M is 8-21 overall. In their last five games, Alabama A&M is 1-4, beating Grambling State while otherwise falling to Southern U, Texas Southern, Prairie View and Jackson State.
In the loss to Jackson State, Alabama A&M’s leading scorer was Garrett Hicks with 15 points, one rebound and one assist. Cameron Tucker was the only other Alabama A&M player in double-figures there, posting 11 points, two rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Prairie View side, they’re 18-13 this year. After a recent eight-game winning streak, Prairie View has lost their last pair of games to Alcorn State and Southern U.
In the loss to Southern U, Prairie View A&M’s leading scorer was Gerard Andrus with 20 points, three rebounds and two assists. Devonte Patterson had 16 points with four rebounds and five assists there, and Antione Lister had 15 points, four rebounds and one assist.
Prairie View A&M is 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five Tuesday games. Prairie View is also 0-4 ATS in their last four overall and the over is 6-1 in the last seven Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, Alabama A&M is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss. Alabama A&M is 5-2 ATS in their last five games overall and the under is 16-5 in their last 21 overall.
Alabama A&M has had a pretty ugly run over the last five games, and they’ve hit a max of just 62 points during that time. Oddly enough that 62 was the last time these teams met up in an 11-point win for Prairie View.
Speaking of Prairie View, they’ve had a couple of bad defensive games over their last two, but Alabama A&M shouldn’t pose that much of a scoring threat. I don’t see a lot of scenarios here where Prairie View doesn’t cover.
