The Boston University Terriers and the Colgate Raiders meet in college basketball action from Cottrell Court on Wednesday.
Coming into this Patriot League Tournament matchup, Boston University is 20-13 on the year. In their first two games of this tournament, Boston University has put up wins over Navy and Bucknell.
In the win over Bucknell, Boston University’s leading scorer was Max Mahoney with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Walter Whyte also doubled up there with 16 points, 10 rebounds and one assist, and Javante McCoy had 12 points, eight assists and two rebounds.
Over on the Colgate side, they’re 25-8 on the year. Colgate is on a three-game win streak right now, beating Army just before the tournament and then Lehigh and Lafayette in their last two games.
In the win over Lafayette, Colgate’s top scorer was Jordan Burns with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists. Will Rayman doubled up in that game with 16 points, 11 rebounds and one assist, and Jack Ferguson chipped in 13 points and four rebounds.
Colgate is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games and 4-0 ATS in the last four home games. Colgate is 4-1 ATS in thier last five overall and the over is 4-0 in their last four home games.
Meanwhile, Boston U is 0-5 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 0-6 ATS in their last six games after a straight-up win. Boston U is 0-6 ATS in the last six games overall and the under is 4-1-1 in their last six after a straight-up win.
It’s been a three-game win streak for Boston University, but things have been pretty tight during that time. Both tournament wins have come by six points or fewer, and the Terriers eked by Bucknell by just three points in their final pre-tourney game. Boston really hasn’t played an “easy” game in about a month.
As for Colgate, they’ve been more dominant lately, and handled Boston U 79-63 on the road the last time these teams met up. I don’t see Colgate having too many difficulties here, so I’m sticking with the Raiders on the cover.
