The Line: George Mason Patriots -4 -- Over/Under: 143
The Saint Joseph’s Hawks and the George Mason Patriots bee tin college basketball action from Barclays Center on Wednesday.
Coming into this Atlantic 10 Tournament matchup, Saint Joseph’s sits at 6-25 on the year. Since their last win over Fordham, Saint Joseph’s has fallen to St. Bonaventure and La Salle in their last pair.
In the loss to La Salle, Saint Joseph’s leading scorer was Ryan Daly with 25 points, five rebounds and four assists. Rahmir Moore added 12 points, two assists and three rebounds as well, and Cameron Brown had 11 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Over on the George Mason side, they’re 16-15 this year. After dropping three straight games to Dayton, Duquesne and Saint Louis, George Mason got a win their last time out versus Fordham.
In the win over Fordham, George Mason’s Javon Greene led the team with 19 points, four assists and two rebounds. The only other George Mason player in double-figures there was Jordan Miller with 17 points, four assists and five rebounds.
George Mason is 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS win and 1-4 in their last five after a straight-up win. The under is 6-2 in George Mason’s last eight neutral-site games and the over is 5-1 in their last six games as a favorite.
Meanwhile, Saint Joseph’s is 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 neutral-site games. The under is 4-0 in Saint Joseph’s last four neutral-site games and 4-1 in their last five neutral-site games as an underdog.
The good news for Saint Joseph’s is that they’ve been scoring well over their last three games, posting 73 points in each outing. The Hawks were pretty competitive against La Salle in their last game as well, losing by just one point. Still, Saint Joseph’s isn’t exactly a reliable team.
As for George Mason, they’ve been pretty tepid on offense over their last few games, but realistically shouldn’t have any issues here. George Mason won 62-55 the last time these teams met up and I doubt this will be much different. I’m going George Mason.
