The Toledo Rockets and the Bowling Green Falcons meet in college basketball action from Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday.
Coming into this MAC Tournament matchup, Toledo sits at 17-15 so far. Toledo recorded a win over Eastern Michigan in their last pre-tourney game, then kept it going with a win over Western Michigan in their last outing.
In the tournament win over Western Michigan, Toledo’s leading performer was Willie Jackson with 22 points, 16 rebounds and four assists. Luke Knapke also doubled up on 18 points and 11 rebounds and one assist, and Marreon Jackson led all scorers on 25 points, five assists and two rebounds.
Over on the Bowling Green side, they’re 20-11 this year. Currently Bowling Green is on a three-game losing streak, falling to Miami-OH, Kent State and Buffalo during that stretch.
In the win over Bowling Green, Buffalo’s leading scorer Jayvon Graves put up 25 points, five rebounds and two assists. Josh Mballa added 16 points and 12 rebounds there, and Davonta Jordan managed 16 points, four assists and three rebounds.
Bowling Green is 1-4 ATS in the last five games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last six Thursday games. Bowling Green is 5-14-3 ATS in their last 22 games after an ATS loss and the over is 5-1 in their last six after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, Toledo is 7-28-1 ATS in their last 26 overall and 3-8 ATS in the last 11 after a straight-up win. Toledo is 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 after an ATS loss and the under is 7-1 in the last eight neutral-site games.
Toledo has had a few bouts of futility on offense during the late part of the season, but on the whole they’ve been scoring pretty well. It took the Rockets a little while to shake off Western Michigan, but the good news is Toledo has now put up a combined 155 points across their last two.
As for Bowling Green, the results haven’t been there over the last three games, but to their credit they’ve played some pretty tough matchups in that time. That said, Toledo looks pretty solid over the past couple of games and I’m taking the Rockets on the cover.
