TN-Martin has a couple of good offensive outings under their belts this year. The Skyhawks opened up with a 93-87 double-overtime win over Evansville. Leading the way in that one was Eden Holt with 24 points, four rebounds and three assists. Cameron Holden added 16 points and eight boards for Tennessee-Martin as well.
Game two was another win for the Skyhawks, this time 95-60 over Bethel TN. Jaron Williams topped the scoring in that one with 19 points, six rebounds and three assists. Ajani Kennedy added a double-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.
Over on the Southeast Missouri State side, they’ve got a couple solid wins and a few frustrating losses on their plate so far. The Redhawks opened at 2-1 with wins over UMKC and Lipscomb around a lost to Southern Illinois. Since then it’s been consecutive losses for SEMO, 80-74 against Lipscomb and 66-63 to Evansville.
In the loss to the Aces, Southeast Missouri State’s Eric Reed led the team on 16 points with four rebounds and one assist. Nana Akenten managed 14 points with nine boards, and Nolan Taylor almost doubled up on 13 points with nine rebounds and one assist.
The Redhawks are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 4-1 ATS in the last five overall. SEMO is 4-1 ATS in their last five versus a team with a winning straight-up record and the over is 5-1-1 in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Skyhawks are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win. The over is 26-8 in TN-Martin’s last 34 overall and 15-5 in their last 20 road games.
PICK: I like Southeast Missouri State in this one. The Redhawks were pretty flat against Evansville, but in each of their first four games they posted 71 points or more. TN-Martin has a few solid scorers at the top of their roster as well, but they had to really work to dispatch Evansville in the opener. This should be a pretty good matchup, but I like Southeast Missouri State’s depth a little better on a cover.
