The Iowa State Cyclones and the West Virginia Mountaineers meet in Big 12 conference college basketball action from the WVU Coliseum on Friday night.

Rasir Bolton led the way with 19 points on 7 of 10 shooting with a team-high 7 assists while Xavier Foster and Tyler Harris each had 10 points with a pair of steals to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for the Cyclones in the losing effort. Darlinstone Dubar added 6 points with a team-high 7 rebounds while Solomon Young chipped in 8 points with 6 boards as well in the losing effort for Iowa State. Bolton leads Iowa State with an average of 15.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6 assists per game, all team-highs. As a team, Iowa State is averaging 72.5 points on 47.1% shooting from the field, 32.4% from behind the arc and 72.5% from the foul line while allowing 78.3 points on 47.2% shooting from the field and 29.7% from 3-point range this season.

The West Virginia Mountaineers will look to add to their 6-1 mark after an 87-71 beatdown of Richmond last time out. Iowa State is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4games overall while the over is 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 games against a team with a winning record. West Virginia is 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a losing record and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 home games while the under is 13-6 in their last 19games following a win.

I get why the boatload of points is tempting against a West Virginia team that’s predominantly known for their defense. However, this Mountaineers team is also picking it up offensively as well and I’m sorry ISU, if you lose to Kansas State with all of the stuff that K-State’s been through this season, you’re on my naughty list already. I think this has the potential to get ugly once again for Iowa State, so I’ll lay the points with West Virginia in this spot.
