Cincinnati opened up the year at 2-1, beating Lipscomb 67-55, falling to Xavier 77-69 and then taking out Furman 78-73. Since then it’s been losses 65-56 to Tennessee and 74-71 to South Florida on the way to a 2-3 start after five appearances.
In the loss to the Bulls, Cincinnati’s leading scorer was Keith Williams with 15 points, five rebounds and two assists. Both Tari Easton and Chris Vogt came up with 13 points and three rebounds apiece, while also combining for 13 rebounds.
Over on the Georgia side, it’s been smooth sailing so far at 5-0, with just one close escape in their last game. The Bulldogs opened up with wins 85-75 over Florida A&M, 84-62 over North Georgia, 98-65 over Jacksonville and 63-50 over Montana. Georgia managed a 79-75 win over Samford last weekend in their most recent appearance.
In the win over Samford, Georgia’s Justin Kier topped the team on 18 points with five rebounds and three assists. Tye Fagan and Sahvir Wheeler notched 15 points apiece, while the duo combined for nine assists and 12 rebounds.
The Bearcats are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 3-14 ATS in their last 17 as a road underdog. Cincinnati is 6-21-1 ATS in their last 28 Saturday games and the under is 51-18-2 in the last 71 road games.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 at home versus a team with a losing road record. Georgia is 1-5 ATS in their last is Saturday games and the under is 24-11 in their last 35 Saturday games.
PICK: I’m going to try Cincinnati here. Georgia has opened up very well this season, but faltered a bit against Samford after a 35-31 first-half deficit. The Bearcats have been a little unpredictable on offense this season but do have 71 or more points in two of their last three outings. If Cincinnati can keep a good pace here and knock down a few shots early, I can see the Bearcats managing a cover/win against the undefeated Bulldogs.
