The Colorado State Rams and the St. Mary’s Gaels meet in college basketball action from the University Credit Union Pavilion on Saturday night.

The Colorado State Rams will look to build on their 2-0 start to the year after a 91-52 rout of Northern Arizona last time out.  Isaiah Stevens led the Rams with 23 points on 8 of 11 shooting with a pair of threes and a team-high 9 assists while David Roddy added 14 points with a team-high 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Kendle Moore and James Moore each had 12 points with Kendle Moore added 12 points on 5 of 9 shooting with 4 assists and 4 steals and James Moore shot 5 of 6 from the field as well. Stevens leads Colorado State in scoring and assists with 20.5 points and 7.5 assists per game while Roddy leads the Rams in rebounding with 10 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Colorado State is averaging 90 points on 53.3% shooting from the field, 44.7% from 3-point range and 77.8% from the foul line while allowing 64.5 points on 39.3% shooting from the field and 30.2% from 3-point range this season.

The St. Mary’s Gaels will look to add to their current seven-game winning streak after an 80-75 win over Eastern Washington last time out. Tommy Kuhse led the Gaels with 34 points on 14 of 23 shooting with team-highs of 7 rebounds and 6 assists while Matthias Tass and Kyle Bowen each had 10 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for the Gaels in the win. Colorado State is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following a win while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win of 20+ points. St. Mary’s is 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.

I get why the points with the Rams are worth a look as the Rams looked good against Northern Arizona. However, a lot of teams have looked good against Northern Arizona and while you can argue about the varying skill of opponents during St. Mary’s winning streak, the Gaels do have wins over some decent teams like South Dakota State, Eastern Washington, UTEP and Northern Iowa. I just nee more than a win over Northern Arizona before putting much faith in the Rams, even on the road, so I’ll lay the points with the Gaels in this spot.
