The Seattle Redhawks and the California Golden Bears meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Haas Pavilion.

Seattle enters this matchup at 5-4 so far. The Redhawks have won consecutive games versus Northwest WA and College of Idaho in their last two appearances. As for California, they’re 4-4 this season. The Bears have won their last two games against San Francisco and CSU Northridge. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Seattle opened up the year with three straight wins, taking out Portland, William Jessup and Air Force. The Redhawks then went on a four-game losing streak, dropping to CSUN, UCLA, Long Beach State and Washington. Since then it’s been wins 89-40 over Northwest WA and 78-54 over College of Idaho for the Redhawks, however.

In the win over the Coyotes, Seattle’s top scorer was Darrion Trammell with 16 points, six assists and three rebounds. Riley Grigsby added 15 points and three boards, while Emeka Udenyi doubled up on 12 points, 10 rebounds and one assist. Vasja Pandza added 13 points and two boards as well.

Over on the California side, they came out of the gate at 2-4 with losses to Oregon State, Arizona State, UCLA and Pepperdine alongside two wins over Northwest WA and Nicholls State. The Golden Bears have gotten Ws in each of their last two however, taking out San Francisco 72-70 and CSUN 87-56.

In the win over the Matadors, California’s Makale Foreman topped the scoring on 23 points with two rebounds and one assist. Ryan Betley added 19 points with one rebound, and Joel Brown also finished in double-figures with 10 points, eight assists and six rebounds.

The Golden Bears are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite. California is 6-2 ATS in the last eight games as a home favorite and the over is 5-2 in their last seven home games.

Meanwhile, the Redhawks are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games and 4-1 ATS in the last five after a straight-up win. Seattle is 0-4 ATS in the last four games overall and the under is 4-1 in their last five games overall.

PICK: I’m going to take a chance on Seattle here. This game seems a little tough to get a feel for, though. The Redhawks have put up some good offensive performances against sub-par competition over their last two games with 167 combined points in that pair. The Redhawks have managed some scoring duds this year as well though, like 52 points against UCLA and 41 versus Washington. California has been all over the place scoring-wise themselves however, so if the Redhawks can get into a good rhythm early I can see Seattle banging out a cover in this one.
