The Cincinnati Bearcats and the UCF Knights meet Tuesday in college basketball action from CFE Arena.
The Bearcats enter this game at 2-4 overall. Cincinnati has lost three straight outings to Tennessee, South Florida and Georgia. As for UCF, they’re 2-1 this season. The Knights have a loss to Michigan in between wins over Auburn and Florida State. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Cincinnati opened up the year at 2-1, taking out Lipscomb and Furman around a 77-69 loss to Xavier. Since then it hasn’t gone well for the Bearcats, and they’re sitting on a three-game losing streak. Those losses came 65-56 to Tennessee 74-71 to South Florida and 83-68 to Georgia.
In the Bulldogs loss, Cincinnati’s leading scorer was Jeremiah Davenport, who turned in 18 points with six boards in 24 minutes on the court. Also in double-digits for the Bearcats in that one were Keith Williams (14 points; three rebounds; one assist) and Tari Eason (11 points; six boards; two assists).
Over on the UCF side, they kicked off the year with a decent 63-55 win over Auburn. The Knights then were dismantled by a good Michigan team in game two 80-58. UCF was able to bounce back from that with a great 86-74 upset win over Florida State in the Saturday game.
In the win over the Seminoles, UCF’s Brandon Mahan posted 32 points with six rebounds and two assists to lead the team. Isaiah Adams added 22 points with eight rebounds and two assists, while Darin Green turned in a nice 20 points with three rebounds in 30 minutes of action.
The Knights are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 Tuesday games. UCF is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS win and the under is 7-3 in their last 10 Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati is 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 16-35 ATS in their last 51 overall. The Bearcats are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 Tuesday games and the over is 4-1 in their last five overall.
PICK: I’m going to go with Cincinnati. The Knights put up an excellent effort in the Florida State game, notching 50.0 percent shooting from the field and out-rebounding the Seminoles 32-25. It was a great output considering UCF had notched a combined 121 points over their previous two games. Cincinnati has had a couple of dud games offensively, but they do have a good group of scorers on the roster. I like the Bearcats to keep pace here and cover; should be an interesting game.
