The UNC Greensboro Spartans and the North Carolina A&T Aggies meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Corbett Sports Center.
UNC Greensboro is sitting at 4-3 so far. The Spartans have won three straight games over Norfolk State, USC Upstate and Elon. As for North Carolina A&T, they’re 3-8 this season. The Aggies took out Greensboro last week but fell to Charlotte in their last appearance. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
UNC Greensboro opened up the year with a win over Little Rock, but then fell in their next three games to Winthrop, Duquesne and Coppin State. Since then it’s been three straight wins for the Spartans, though: 64-47 over Norfolk State, 65-57 over USC Upstate and 71-64 over Elon.
In the win over the Phoenix, UNC Greensboro’s Keyshaun Langley managed 21 points with three assists and two rebounds. Angelo Allegri added 14 points with three boards and one assists and Isaiah Miller posted 12 points, four boards and two assists.
Over on the North Carolina A&T side, it’s been a pretty rough ride. The Aggies opened at 2-2 this year, but then lost five games in a row to the Citadel, Stanford, Longwood, VCU and Western Carolina. After a 91-45 win over Greensboro, NC A&T lost again to Charlotte 76-72 in their last game.
In the loss to the 49ers, North Carolina A&T’s leading scorer was Quentin Jones on 19 points and three assists. The only other Aggies player in double-figures there was Blake Harris, who notched 15 points, four assists and three rebounds.
North Carolina A&T is 1-4-1 ATS in the last six Tuesday games and 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 home games. The under is 6-1 in the Aggies’ last seven after an ATS win and 9-4 in their last 13 after a straight-up loss.
Meanwhile, the Spartans are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Tuesday games. UNC Greensboro is 2-10 ATS in their last 12 overall and 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine after an ATS loss.
PICK: I’m going to take a shot on North Carolina A&T in this one. The Aggies managed a pretty decent 50.0 percent shooting from the field in their last game, but were pretty bad on the glass with a 26-18 rebound deficit and allowed 59.6 percent field goal shooting to the 49ers. UNC Greensboro has had a few dud offensive outings with 68 or fewer points in four of seven games, so I think there’s some room for the Aggies to get in there if their shots are falling.
