Delaware State hasn’t had much luck on the court this season, to put it mildly. The Hornets’ opener was a 111-51 blowout loss to Wake Forest, then came a 99-73 loss to Coastal Carolina. On Sunday Delaware State lost again in their latest appearance, 97-69 to Georgia Tech.
In the loss to the Yellow Jackets, Delaware State’s Myles Carter led the team with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Dominik Fragala added 10 points and one assist as the only other Hornets player in double-figures, while Pinky Wiley chipped in nine points, three boards and three assists.
Over on the UNC Wilmington side, they’ve had a few nice wins and a few tough losses. After starting out 2-2, the Seahawks have gone 3-1 in their last four games. Outside of a loss to Mississippi 78-58, the Seahawks managed wins 116-66 over St. Andrews, 80-72 over Norfok State and 78-59 over Campbell.
In the win over the Camels, UNC Wilmington’s Mike Okauru posted 17 points with five rebounds and three assists. Ty Gadsden and Jaylen Sims each notched 15 points apiece, and Joe Pridgen doubled up on 14 points, 13 rebounds and two assists.
UNC Wilmington is 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 0-5-1 ATS in their last six Wednesday games. The under is 11-5 in the Seahawks’ last 16 overall and 8-3 in their last 11 home games.
Meanwhile, the Hornets are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 8-20 ATS in their last 28 road games versus a team with a winning home record. Delaware State is 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss and the over is 5-0-1 in their last six Wednesday games.
PICK: I’m going to stick with UNC Wilmington here. Delaware State has posted two reasonably good offensive performances in their last two, with 142 combined points. The Hornets have also allowed 97 or more points in each game this year, however. UNC Wilmington should be able to put up plenty of points here, and I don’t think they’ll have too many issues keeping Delaware State at bay.
