The Raiders are riding a five-game winning streak right now. This will be a rematch of Saturday’s game featuring these teams. In that game, Wright State took a 14-point win. Green Bay tumbled out of the gate with six straight losses in their first half-dozen games. The Phoenix fell to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Eastern Illinois and Marquette in their opening quartet. After that it was two more defeats 68-65 and 74-62 against Milwaukee.
In the Saturday game, Green Bay took another loss, this time 67-53. The Phoenix hung in with a two-point deficit at halftime but couldn’t catch up. Leading the team in scoring was Amari Davis with 13 points, four rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Wright State side, they fell in the opener 80-64 to Marshall, but then found a groove. The Raiders’ next four games went well as they recorded wins 71-47 over Miami-OH, 85-67 over Bowling Green, 93-70 over Detroit and 85-72 over Detroit again.
In Saturday’s victory, Wright State had four players in double-figure scoring—one off the bench in Grant Basile (11 points; eight rebounds). Loudon Love (17 points; 14 rebounds) and Tanner Holden (18 points; 10 rebounds) each posted double-doubles in the win as well.
The over is 5-0 in Wright State’s last five Sunday games and 4-2 in their last six home games. The Raiders are 5-3-1 in their last nine home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix are 1-4 ATS in their last five Sunday games and the over is 5-2 in their last seven Sunday games. Green Bay is 2-4 ATS in their last six road games and 3-5 ATS in their last eight games overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Wright State here. Green Bay has put up some pretty tepid offensive outings this season, notching 70 or more points just once across their first half-dozen games. The Phoenix have also been quite permissive to opposing offenses and allowed 82 or more points in each of their first four games. Saturday’s outing wasn’t a spectacular effort for the Raiders, but I think they’re still the team to take on a cover in this rematch.
