The Western Carolina Catamounts and the East Tennessee State Buccaneers meet in SoCon college basketball action from Freedom Hall Civic Center on Wednesday night.
The Western Carolina Catamounts will look to add to their 7-2 mark on the year after a 76-70 win over Charleston last time out. Hightower leads Western Carolina in scoring with 17 points as well as in the rebounding column with 7 rebounds per game and Faulkner leads the Catamounts in assists with 4.6 assists per game this season. Damari Monsanto led the Buccaneers with 23 points on 8 of 13 shooting with 6 threes and a team-high 9 rebounds while Ledarrius Brewer added 18 points on 6 of 12 shooting with a pair of threes and a pair of steals. David Sloan added 14 points with a team-high 5 assists and a pair of steals to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for ETSU in the losing effort. Brewer leads East Tennessee State in scoring with 15.5 points per game while Sloan leads the Buccaneers with 4.1 assists per game and Silas Adheke is leading the Buccaneers in rebounding with 6.4 rebounds per game this season.
