Portland opened up the season with an 84-72 loss to Seattle, but after that they rattled off five straight wins over William Jessup, Northwest Washington, Portland State, Oregon State and College of Idaho. After an 80-41 blowout loss courtesy of Oregon, the Pilots managed a 62-59 win over Montana State in their last game.
In the win over the Bobcats, Portland’s top scorer was Eddie Davis, who doubled up with 19 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Ahmed Ali logged 17 points with three rebounds and two assists, while Latrell Jones managed 10 points with nine rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Seattle side, it’s been a choppy season at .500 after 10 games. The Redhawks kicked off the year with three straight wins before losing to CSUN, UCLA, Long Beach State and Washington in succession. After two more wins, Seattle fell to California 70-65 in their last game.
In the loss to the Bears, Seattle’s Riley Grigsby posted 20 points with eight rebounds and one assist. Darrion Trammell posted 15 points with eight assists and five boards, while Emeka Udenyi managed a double-double on 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
The Redhawks are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall. Seattle is 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss and the over is 11-5 in their last 16 games after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Pilots are 1-5 ATS in their last six Wednesday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up win. The over is 4-1 in the Pilots’ last five after a straight-up win and they’re 5-2 in their last seven as an underdog.
PICK: I’m going with Seattle here. This should be another pretty good matchup, though. In the November 25 game between these teams, Portland jumped out to a 39-31 halftime lead but coughed up 53 second-half points to the Redhawks. Seattle would go on to win 84-72. The Pilots have notched a couple of dud offensive outings in their last pair and I think they’ll score better in this one. That said I like Seattle to keep Portland at bay and bag a cover.
