The Prairie View A&M Panthers and the TCU Horned Frogs meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Schollmaier Arena.
Prairie View A&M enters this one at 1-3 so far. The Panthers got a win over Evansville in late November but since have fallen to Louisville and Washington State. As for TCU, they’re 7-2 this season. The Frogs have won three straight games over Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and North Dakota State. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Prairie View A&M kicked off the season with a loss, falling 71-66 to Little Rock. The Panthers were able to bang out a victory over Evansville in game two however, taking that one 64-61. Since then it’s been consecutive losses for Prairie View A&M, 86-64 to Louisville and 90-62 to Washington State.
In the loss to the Cougars, Prairie View A&M’s leading scorer was Damari Parris with 15 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Cam Mack managed a double-double with 14 points, 10 assists and three rebounds, and Jawaun Daniels also finished in double-figures with 11 points and three boards.
Over on the TCU side, they came out of the gate this year with four straight wins, beating Houston Baptist, Tulsa, Liberty and Northwestern State. The Frogs then fell in consecutive games to Oklahoma and Providence, but have won their last three versus Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and North Dakota State.
In the 89-82 win over North Dakota State, TCU’s Mike Miles led the way on 26 points with four assists and two rebounds, while RJ Nembhard added 22 points with five assists and six rebounds. Kevin Samuel pitched in with 14 points, four assists and six rebounds in 27 minutes as well.
The Frogs are 2-7 ATS in their last nine Wednesday games and 0-4 ATS in their last four as a favorite. TCU is 6-2 ATS in their last eight after an ATS loss and the over is 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 after a straight-up loss and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Prairie View is 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 versus a team with a winning straight-up record and the under is 5-1 in their last six Wednesday games.
PICK: I’m sticking with TCU in this one. The Frogs have had some off games and a couple of close escapes this year, but they’ve played well overall. TCU has hit 70 points or more in each of their last six games and I like them to put up another good total here. Prairie View A&M hasn’t posted more than 66 points all season, so I don’t think the Panthers will have the gas to keep up on the scoreboard.
