Milwaukee enters this one at 3-1 so far. The Panthers are on a three-game winning streak, taking out Green Bay in their last pair of outings. As for Robert Morris, they’re 2-3 this season. The Colonials split a pair of games versus Fort Wayne in their last two appearances. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Milwaukee opened up the season with a tough 76-75 loss to Kansas State, but they’ve been able to bag wins in their most recent three games. Those victories came 71-63 over Western Michigan, then a pair 68-65 and 74-62 over Green Bay on December 19 and 20.
In the December 20 win over the Phoenix, Milwaukee’s DeAndre Gholston posted 18 points with 10 rebounds to lead the team, and Josh Thomas managed 15 points with five rebounds and three assists. Te’Jon Lucas and Amir Allen each notched 11 points with seven rebounds.
Over on the Robert Morris side, they’ve had some mixed results this year. The Colonials started out with a win over Point Park, then lost consecutive games to Bowling Green and Marshall. Since then it’s been a win 102-88 over Fort Wayne and a loss 87-82 to Fort Wayne.
In the latest loss to the Mastodons, Robert Morris’ leading scorer was AJ Bramah with 23 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Jon Williams added 16 points with five assists and two rebounds, while Kahliel Spear chipped in 12 points with three rebounds and two assists.
Robert Morris is 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 21-6 ATS in their last 27 after an ATS loss. The Colonials are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and the over is 5-1 in their last six home games.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 4-0 ATS in their last four overall. The over is 11-5 in Milwaukee’s last 16 road games and they’re 4-0 in their last four versus a team with a losing straight-up record.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Milwaukee in this one. The Panthers have been competitive in every game and scoring well so far, with at least 68 points in all four outings. Milwaukee has also held opponents to 65 points or fewer in each of their last three games—granted, it’s a small sample size but the Panthers have done their job. Robert Morris has scored pretty well themselves (71 or more in four of five) but they’ve also given up a lot of points on the other side. That’ll help the Panthers offense here.
