Indiana State comes into this one at 3-4 on the season. The Sycamores have notched losses in their last two games, both to Drake. As for Missouri State, they’re 4-1 this year. The Bears opened with four straight wins but fell to Northern Iowa in their last outing. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Indiana State came out of the gate this year at 1-2, beating Truman and falling to Purdue and Saint Louis in the next pair. The Sycamores managed wins over Ball State and Southeast Missouri State, then fell in consecutive games to Drake 81-63 Sunday and 73-66 Monday.
In the loss to Drake on Monday, Indiana State’s top scorer was Jake LaRavia with 20 points and three rebounds in 20 minutes. Cooper Neese added 18 points with four rebounds, and Tyreke Key chipped in with 11 points, two assists and two rebounds for the Sycamores.
Over on the Missouri State side, they opened up the year with four straight victories. Those came courtesy of William Jewell, Northwestern State, Little Rock and Northern Iowa. In the Bears’ last game, they suffered their first loss, dropping 85-75 to Northern Iowa.
In the loss to the Panthers, Missouri State’s leading scorers were Isaiah Mosley and Gaige Prim, each notching 20 points with a combined seven assists and 15 rebounds. Ja’Monta Black added 17 points with two boards in 33 minutes as well.
Missouri State is 5-2 ATS in their last seven games after an ATS loss and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games overall. The Bears are 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games.
Meanwhile, the Sycamores are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. Indiana State is 5-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games and the over is 14-6 in their last 20 road games.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Missouri State in this one. The Bears have scored well this season, logging 73 or more points in every game so far. The 10-point loss to Northern Iowa featured a bad first half for Missouri State, as they scored just 28 points and couldn’t close the gap. Indiana State has notched a combined 129 points over their last two games, and probably won’t be able to match the Bears’ pace if Missouri State gets going early.
