New Orleans comes into this game at 1-7 so far. The Privateers are riding a four-game losing streak, most recently falling to Rice. As for Stephen F. Austin, they’re 3-2 this year. New Orleans opened up the year with three straight losses, falling to BYU, Texas A&M and Louisiana. After a win over Florida National, it was four more losses for the Privateers. Those defeats came against Campbell, Jacksonville, Louisiana and Rice.

In the 73-62 loss to the Owls, New Orleans’ top scorer was Rodney Carson on 15 points with three assists in 26 minutes. The only other Privateers player to finish in double-figures there was Lamont Berzat with 14 points, four rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes on the court.

Over on the Stephen F. Austin side, they kicked off their year with three straight wins. Those victories came courtesy of LeTourneau, McNeese State and LSU-Alexandria. Since then it’s been consecutive losses for the Lumberjacks; they’ve fallen 83-52 to Baylor and 66-55 to LA-Monroe.

In the loss to the Warhawks, Stephen F. Austin’s David Kachelries led the way on 14 points with one rebound. Roti Ware added 12 points with two boards and one assist, and Cameron Johnson posted 11 points with four assists and three rebounds in 32 minutes of play.

Stephen F. Austin is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. The Lumberjacks are 1-5 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss and the over is 5-1 in their last six home games.

Meanwhile, the Privateers are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven road games. New Orleans is 15-7-1 ATS in their last 23 after an ATS loss and the over is 36-17-1 in their last 54 overall.

PICK: I’m going to take a shot on New Orleans here. The Lumberjacks were able to beat up on sub-par competition in their first three games, with 86 or more points scored in each. Since then it’s been 107 combined points in two games for Stephen F. Austin, and double-digit losses in both games. The Privateers have had some scoring issues themselves this year but do have some solid contributors at the top of their roster. I think New Orleans can keep pace in this one.
