The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Tennessee Volunteers meet in college basketball action from Thompson-Boling Arena on Saturday night.

The Alabama Crimson Tide come into this one looking to build on back-to-back wins after an 82-64 win over Tennessee last time out. Jahvon Quinerly led the Tide with 24 points on 8 of 14 shooting with 3 threes while John Petty Jr. added 13 points on 5 of 11 shooting with 3 threes and 6 rebounds. Alex Reese added 10 points with a pair of threes to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Alabama in the win. Jaden Shackelford added 9 points with team-highs of 7 rebounds and 4 assists while Joshua Primo added 6 points with 6 rebounds as well in the victory. Shackelford leads Alabama in scoring with 13.4 points per game while Quinerly leads the Tide in assists with 3.2 helpers per game and Herb Jones leads Alabama in rebounds with 6.2 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Alabama is averaging 77.3 points on 41.8% shooting from the field, 30.5% from 3-point range and 67.5% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 70.4 points on 42.3% shooting from the field and 31.9% from 3-point range this season.

The Tennessee Volunteers will look to remain unbeaten after improving to 7-0 on the year following a 73-53 win on the road against Missouri last time out. Santiago Vescovi led the Vols with 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting with 3 threes while Yves Pons and Jaden Springer each had 13 points with Pons shooting 5 of 9 with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks while Springer added 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Alabama is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a win while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Tennessee is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games while the under is 13-3 in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record. The underdog is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.

This is a ton of points to give to an Alabama team that can score in bunches no matter home or away, but the reality is that Tennessee’s beat up on everyone that’s stepped in front of them, and that includes a very good Missouri team on the road by 20 as well as sizeable wins over Colorado and Cincinnati along with three 35+ point wins this season. The Vols are just a team on a mission right now and I expect Alabama to be the next victim. I’ll lay the points with Tennessee in this spot.
