The Binghamton Bearcats and the Hartford Hawks meet Saturday in college basketball action from ChaseFamily Arena.

Binghamton enters this one at 4-13 so far. The Bearcats are coming off a pair of wins over NJIT. As for Hartford, they’re 11-8 this year. The Hawks are 1-2 in their last three games and coming off a win over NJIT as well. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Binghamton hasn’t had much luck this year to say the least. The Bearcats won just one of their first 13 games before stopping the bleeding with a victory over New Hampshire. Since then it’s been a loss to New Hampshire and two wins over NJIT.

In the 72-58 Sunday win over NJIT, Binghamton’s Dan Petcash and George Tinsley each notched 16 points, also combining for 12 rebounds and two assists. Thomas Bruce added 12 points with four rebounds in that one as well.

Over on the Hartford side, they managed a decent 9-5 record over their first 14 games but have since sputtered at 2-3 in their last five outings. The losses in that time were to UMBC, Stony Brook and NJIT; the wins were over Stony Brook and NJIT.

In the 75-61 win over NJIT on Sunday, Hartford’s Miroslav Stafl put up 17 points with five rebounds and four assists. Austin Williams added 16 points with eight rebounds, and Traci Carter put up 15 points with five boards.

The Hawks are 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS win and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games. Hartford is 6-2 ATS in their last eight at home versus a team with a losing road record and the under is 5-2 in their last seven home games.

Meanwhile, the Bearcats are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 after a straight-up win. Binghamton is 4-10 ATS in the last 14 Saturday games and the over is 13-5-1 in their last 19 Saturday games.

PICK: I’m going to take Binghamton here. The last time these teams met up, Hartford took a pair of wins 76-56 and 77-74. The Bearcats have had some offensive slumps since then, but to their credit they did notch 148 combined points in the two NJIT games. If Binghamton can keep it up on the scoreboard like that, I like them on a cover.
