Lafayette vs Lehigh College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/27/21

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks and the Lafayette Leopards meet Saturday in college basketball action from Kirby Sports Center. 

Lehigh enters this one at 4-8 so far. The Mountain Hawks are 1-3 in their last four games and coming off a win over Loyola MD. As for Lafayette, they’re 7-5 this year. The Leopards are 2-1 in their last three and coming off a loss to Loyola MD. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place. 

Lehigh hasn’t had much luck in the win column during their limited season thus far, and they’ve notched consecutive wins just once. In their last six games, the Hawks have two wins over Holy Cross, two losses to Bucknell and a split pair with Loyola MD. 

In the win over Loyola 76-72 on Sunday, Lehigh’s Reed Fenton put up 19 points with four rebounds and one assist. Dominic Parolin doubled up with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Evan Taylor had 15 points with nine boards and one assist. 

Over on the Lafayette side, their year started on a nice 5-1 run through six games with a lone loss to Lehigh in the opener. Since then the Leopards are just 2-4, however. The losses in that stretch have come to Boston U and Loyola MD, twice apiece. 

In the 88-69 loss to Loyola on February 14, Lafayette’s Justin Jaworski put up 17 points with four rebounds in 35 minutes. Leo O’Boyle added 12 points with three rebounds, and EJ Stephens had 11 points with three boards and two assists. 

Lafayette is 4-1 ATS in their last five as a home underdog and the over is 10-4 in their last 14 overall. The over is 4-1 in the Leopards’ last five Saturday games as well. 

Meanwhile, the Hawks are 1-5 ATS in their last six Saturday games and 8-20 ATS in their last 28 overall. Lehigh is 2-5 ATS in their last seven as a road underdog and the over is 5-1 in their last six overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Lafayette, but probably staying away as there’s not a ton of intrigue in this one. That said, the Leopards have scored pretty well lately, notching 69 or more points in each of their last three games. Lehigh has hit 70 or more in four of their last six, but they’re also giving up points at a pretty good clip as well. The cover should be there for the Leopards if they play well.
