The North Carolina A&T Aggies and the South Carolina State Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from S-H-M Memorial Center on Sunday afternoon.
The North Carolina A&T Aggies will look to add to their 4-9 record after picking up a win over the Bulldogs by a final count of 97-86 last time out. Kameron Langley leads NC A&T in scoring with 10.6 PPG as the only double-digit scorer for the Aggies this season while also leading North Carolina A&T with 5.5 RPG, 6.9 APG and 2.5 steals per game this season. Blake Harris is not far off from being a 2nd double-digit scorer for NC A&T. The Aggies have an additional four players, each averaging 8+ PPG for the Aggies this season. As a team, North Carolina A&T is averaging 71.8 points on 42.1% shooting from the field, 32.3% from 3-point range and 64.9% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 79.8 points on 46.5% shooting from the floor and 37% from beyond the arc this season.
The South Carolina State Bulldogs will be looking for their first win of the year, sitting at 0-11 following their loss to the Aggies on Saturday. Rahsean Edwards leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 9.8 PPG as well as logging a team-high 2.5 APG this season. Jemal Davis and Floyd Rideau Jr. each have 7.9 PPG while Latavian Lawrence has a team-high 3.9 RPG per game this year. As a team, South Carolina State is averaging 58.2 points on 37.2% shooting from the field, 31.5% from 3-point range and 62.3% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 83.7 points on 50.6% shooting from the field and 35.3% from 3-point range this season.
North Carolina A&T is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a win while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record. South Carolina State is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 Sunday games. The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
This is a lot of points to give up with a subpar North Carolina A&T team, but there’s simply no backing South Carolina State. The Bulldogs are being outscored by over 25 points per game and while it’s hard to beat the same team twice in as many days, I just don’t see any way that South Carolina State hangs here all of a sudden. I’ll lay the points with North Carolina A&T in this spot.
