The Boston College Eagles and the Duke Blue Devils meet in a first-round ACC tournament matchup in college basketball action from the Greensboro Coliseum on Tuesday afternoon.

The Boston College Eagles come into this tournament as the #15 seed, finishing dead last in the ACC standings this season with a 2-11 conference record as part of their 4-15 overall record this season. Jay Heath leads the Eagles in scoring with 15.1 PPG while Rich Kelly has 11 PPG and 2.4 APG and C.J. Felder has 10 PPG with 6 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Boston College this season. Makai Ashton-Langford has 9.7 PPG with a team-high 3.1 APG and Steffon Mitchell leads the Eagles in rebounding with 9.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG as well on the year. As a team, Boston College is averaging 72.4 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field and 33.7% from three while allowing 79.2 PPG on 48.9% shooting from the field and 34.5% from three this season.

The Duke Blue Devils come into the conference tournament in unfamiliar territory, sitting with the #10-seed, finishing the year with a 9-9 record in conference play as part of their 11-11 overall mark on the year. Matthew Hurt leads the Blue Devils in scoring and rebounding with 18.7 PPG and 6.1 RPG while D.J. Steward has 13 PPG with 3.9 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer Duke in the regular season. Wendell Moore Jr. had 9.8 PPG and Jordan Goldwire has a team-high 4.1 APG this season. As a team, Duke is averaging 75.8 PPG on 46.6% shooting from the field and 34.4% from three while allowing 72.9 PPG on 46.5% shooting from the field and 37.2% from three this season.

The over is 13-4 in Boston College’s last 17 games overall and 9-4 in their last 13 games following a loss. Duke is 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games following a loss.

This is a ton of points to give up with Duke considering the Blue Devils only won the lone meeting in January by one point and it still feels weird to see the Dukies in a first-round matchup. However, the Blue Devils cannot afford to take any team lightly in this tournament as a loss could spell the end of their season which is almost unthinkable. I think we see a win and from the Blue Devils cover in this spot.
