The Auburn Tigers and the Ole Miss Rebels meet in college basketball action from the Pavilion at Ole Miss on Wednesday night.
The Auburn Tigers will look to rebound from a 68-66 loss to drop to 6-4 on the year as a result. Allen Flanigan leads the Tigers in scoring with 14.5 PPG as well as logging 4.8 RPG this season while Justin Powell is 2nd in scoring with 11.7 PPG and tops in rebounding and assists with 6.1 RPG and 4.7 APG this season. Jamal Johnson and Jaylin Williams each have 10+ PPG to make up the group of four double-digit scorers for Auburn heading into this matchup. As a team, Auburn is averaging 75.7 PPG on 45.3% shooting from the field, 34.4% from 3-point range and 61.4% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 71.8 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field and 29.9% from 3-point range this season.
The Ole Miss Rebels will look to bounce back from an 83-79 loss to Wichita State at home in their last matchup, falling to 5-3 on the year as a result. Devontae Shuler leads the Rebels in scoring with 14.6 PPG as well as in the assists department with 3.4 APG while Romello White is 2nd in scoring and rebounding with 12.5 PPG and 7.3 RPG this season. KJ Buffen has 11.4 PPG and 5 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Ole Miss in the win while Luis Rodriguez has a team-high 7.8 RPG and 8.6 PPG this season. As a team, Ole Miss is averaging 73.9 PPG on 45% shooting from the field, 28% from 3-point range and 66.1% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 60.1 PPG on 38.9% shooting from the field and 34.2% from 3-point range this season.
Auburn is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Ole Miss is 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 home games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record while the home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.
I get Ole Miss being favored at home as this has been an up and down season for Auburn and this is a tough Ole Miss squad. However, the Rebels didn’t look like anything special in the loss to Wichita State, a game that the Rebels should’ve at least won if not covered if we’re being honest. I just think this is a 3-4 point game instead of a 7 point game, maybe something like 68-64 or something around there so give me Auburn and the points in this one.
