UNC Greensboro enters this one at 5-4 so far. The Spartans had a four-game winning streak snapped by East Tennessee State in their last outing. As for Wofford, they’re 5-3 this year. The Terriers have won consecutive games over Mercer and Samford. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
UNC Greensboro opened up the year with a win over Little Rock, but then lost three straight to Winthrop, Duquesne and Coppin State. After that it was four straight wins for the Spartans. They took out Norfolk State, USC Upstate, Elon and NC A&T prior to a 71-61 loss to East Tennessee State.
In the loss to the Buccaneers, UNC Greensboro’s leading scorer was Isaiah Miller, the only player on the team in double-figures with 24 points, five rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes of action. Keyshaun Langley chipped in nine points with three assists and one rebound for the Spartans as well.
Over on the Wofford side, they kicked off the year at 2-2, beating Toccoa Falls and Carver before losses to Richmond and South Florida. After a win over Coastal Carolina and a loss to Texas A&M, the Terriers won in their last pair versus Mercer and Samford.
In the 94-84 victory over the Bulldogs, Wofford’s top scorer was Storm Murphy, posting a double-double on 23 points, 11 assists and one rebound. Tray Hollowell added 15 points with three rebounds and three assists for the Terriers, and Morgan Safford had 14 points in 19 minutes on the floor.
The Terriers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and the over is 48-20 in their last 68 home games. The under is 7-2 in Wofford’s last nine Wednesday games and the over is 6-2 in their last eight after a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Spartans are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS loss and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine Wednesday games. UNC Greensboro is 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games overall and the over is 7-0 in their last seven road games.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Wofford here. This should be a pretty interesting matchup, though. The Terriers have been scoring pretty well over their last four games, with 78 or more points in three of those (the outlier being a 52-point dud versus Texas A&M). UNC Greensboro has been pretty sporadic on the scoreboard themselves, with 65 or fewer in three of their last five outings. This one should be pretty tight initially, but I think Wofford can muscle out a late cover.
