As a team, Jacksonville State is averaging 75.6 PPG on 45.6% shooting from the field, 37.2% from 3-point range and 67.6% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 64 PPG on 39.7% shooting from the field and 29.4% from 3-point range this season.
The Eastern Kentucky Colonels will look to build off of their 9-2 start after an 80-75 win over Austin Peay last time out. Brandon Knapper leads the Colonels in scoring with 10.3 PPg while Tre King is 2nd in scoring with 16.2 PPG as well as 7.9 RPG to lead Eastern Kentucky on the glass. Wendell Green Jr. is 3d on the Colonels in scoring with 11.9 PPG to go along with a team-high 4.5 APG to lead Eastern Kentucky in the assists department and Jomaru Brown has 11.8 PPG this season to cap off the scoring in double figures for Eastern Kentucky coming into Thursday night. Jacksonville State is 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 road games and 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 8-3 in their last 11 Thursday games. Eastern Kentucky is 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 home games and 20-6-1 ATS in their last 27 games overall while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 home games. The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
The Gamecocks are one of the rare teams that actually does alright on the road, sitting at 2-2 SU on the road, but the problem I have is that Jacksonville State’s been fairly untested, and in the one opportunity that the Gamecocks had to step up, the lost handily to Alabama. I’m not putting Eastern Kentucky on Alabama’s level, but the Colonels did hang with Xavier on the road already this season and have looked like a dark horse to watch out for come conference tournament time. The Colonels have also been killing it ATS this season, so I’ll lay the points with EKU in this one.
