The Washington Huskies and the Stanford Cardinal meet in college basketball action from Maples Pavilion on Thursday night.
The Washington Huskies could use a win to snap out of a 1-7 start after an 80-53 loss to Arizona last time out. Quade Green leads the Huskies as Washington’s only double-digit scorer this season, logging 15.5 PPG along with a team-high 2.9 APG and 1.4 steals per game. Nate Pryor is 2nd on the Huskies in scoring with 8 PPG and Nate Roberts has 6.3 PPG with a team-high 7.5 RPG this season. As a team, Washington is averaging 60 PPG on 38.7% shooting from the field, 24.3% from 3-point range and 69.6% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 71.5 PPG on 40.9% shooting from the floor and 31.7% from behind the 3-point line.
The Stanford Cardinal could use a win to build on their 6-3 mark after improving to that record with an 81-71 win over Oregon State last time out. Oscar Da Silva leads Stanford in scoring with 19.3 PPG while also leading the Cardinal in rebounding with 6.4 RPG this season. Daejon Davis is 2nd on the team in scoring with 13.8 PPG along with 4.2 RPG and a team-high 3.8 APG this season and Xlaire Williams is Stanford’s 3rd double-digit scorer, logging 11.1 PPG and 5.6 RPG this season. Washington is 7-21 ATS in their last 28 games overall and 5-16 ATS in their last 21 road games while the under is 35-17 in their last 52 road games. Stanford is 35-17-1 ATS in their last 53 home games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 while the under is 9-3 in their last 12 Thursday games. The home team is 4-1 ATS in the alst 5 meetings between these two teams.
Normally I don’t associate heavy lines like these with Stanford, but the thing is that the Cardinal are covering numbers here and there which is something we can’t necessarily say for the Huskies right now. I just don’t think that Washington has anyone that can consistently stop the likes of Da Silva and Williams for Stanford and as such, I think we have a 10-12 point win for Stanford so I’ll lay the points with the Cardinals in this spot.
