Manhattan began the year with an 82-64 loss to Rider, but then got revenge on the Broncs with an 87-77 win. After that came consecutive losses to Marist 61-39 and 72-67, but the Jaspers posted a 65-59 win over Delaware State in their last game December 30.
In the win over the Hornets, Manhattan’s Elijah Buchanan led the team with 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Anthony Nelson added 14 points with four boards and one assist and Warren Williams doubled up with 10 points and 11 rebounds with one assist.
Over on the Quinnipiac side, they’ve only been able to play four games this year, the last one coming way back on December 6. The Bobcats got a win over Fairleigh Dickinson, then lost twice to Drexel in the next pair. Quinnipiac got a win 64-58 over New Hampshire in their last game.
In the victory over the Wildcats, Quinnipiac’s Brendan McGuire led the team with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists. Tymu Chenery added 16 points with six rebounds, and Jacob Rigoni hit a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds with two assists.
Quinnipiac is 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall and the under is 5-2 in their last seven home games. The under is 6-1 in the Bobcats’ last seven overall and they’re 1-4 ATS in their last five at home versus a team with a winning road record.
Meanwhile, the Jaspers are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four Friday games. Manhattan is 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and the under is 4-0 in their last four road games.
PICK: I’m sticking with Manhattan here. Neither of these teams has scored very well this season. The Jaspers have 67 or fewer in four of five games and the Bobcats have been at 64 or below in three of four. Considering the long layoff for Quinnipiac, the team may be a little rusty coming back to the floor. That should provide a good cover opportunity for the Jaspers if they can get their offense going early.
