Bowling Green started the year with a loss to Michigan, but then went on a four-game win streak over SC State, App State, Purdue Calumet and Buffalo. After a loss to Wright State, the Falcons rattled off wins over Robert Morris, Ohio, Northern Illinois and Central Michigan.
In the 90-69 win over the Chippewas, Bowling Green’s Justin Turner posted 17 points with seven assists and two rebounds. Caleb Fields added 13 points with five rebounds and two assists, and Cam Young managed 12 points with five rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Chippewas’ side, they started out at 0-3 this year before a win over Western Illinois in game four. Central Michigan went 4-1 in their next five games, falling to Western Michigan while otherwise taking out Valparaiso, St. Francis IL, Olivet and Eastern Michigan before the Bowling Green loss.
In the Tuesday defeat, Central Michigan’s top scorer was Meikkel Murray with 16 points, three rebounds and one assist. Both Tavon Broadway and Caleb Huffman added 13 points apiece, combining for two assists and nine rebounds. Devontae Lane chipped in 10 points as well.
Central Michigan is 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 Saturday games and 1-4-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss. The over is 7-3 in the Chippewas’ last 10 overall and 5-1 in their last six home games.
Meanwhile, the Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 6-21-3 ATS in their last 30 as a favorite. The over is 18-8 in Bowling Green’s last 26 road games and 7-3 in their last 10 overall.
PICK: I’m going with Bowling Green here. The Falcons jumped out to a 46-36 halftime lead in the Tuesday game, and didn’t let up after that with 44 more points in the second half. Bowling Green has hit 83 or more points in three of their last four games, so I expect another offensive onslaught in this one. It may be closer this time but I still like the Falcons.
