The George Washington Colonials and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies meet Saturday in college basketball action from Reilly Center.
George Washington is sitting at 3-7 so far. The Colonials have gone 2-1 in their last three, taking out Fordham and Duquesne. As for St. Bonaventure, they’re 4-1 this year. The Bonnies have won consecutive games versus Richmond and Saint Joseph’s. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
George Washington lost two games to Navy and Hampton before getting a win over Coppin State. Four losses versus UMBC, Delaware, William & Mary and Charlotte followed for the Colonials. Since then it’s been a win over Fordham, a loss to Duquesne and a win over the Dukes on Sunday.
In the Sunday win over Duquesne, George Washington’s top scorer was Jamison Battle with 29 points and seven rebounds. James Bishop added 16 points with seven assists, and Matthew Moyer doubled up on 14 points and 15 rebounds in 35 minutes on the court.
Over on the St. Bonaventure side, they came out of the gate with consecutive wins this season over Akron and Hofstra. The Bonnies’ first loss came 63-57 to Rhode Island, then they rattled off two more wins over Richmond 69-66 and Saint Joseph’s 83-57.
In the Wednesday win over Saint Joseph’s, St. Bonaventure’s top scorer was Jaren English, who poured in 38 points with 10 rebounds and three assists. Jalen Adaway also finished in double-figures for the Bonnies there, logging 24 points with seven rebounds and four assists.
The over is 7-2 in the Bonnies’ last nine Saturday games and 13-6-1 in their last 20 overall. St. Bonaventure is 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 home games and 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 at home versus a team with a losing road record.
Meanwhile, the Colonials are 1-5 ATS in the last six road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games. George Washington is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 overall and the under is 4-1 in their last five Saturday games.
PICK: I like St. Bonaventure in this one. George Washington has been quite unreliable so far. They’ve been able to put up 71 or more in two of their last three games, but they’ve also allowed 73 or more points in six of their 10 games this year. St. Bonaventure has a solid offense when the matchup is right, and I think the Bonnies can put it together and bang out a cover here.
