As a team, California Baptist is averaging 83.8 PPG on 46.4% shooting from the field, 37.4% from 3-point range and 74.5% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 72.8 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field and 28.8% from 3-point range this season.
The Utah Valley Wolverines will look to sweep the back-to-back with the Lancers after taking Friday’s matchup quite comfortably. Jamison Overton leads the Wolverines in scoring with 19.2 PPG with 4.8 RPG while Fardaws Almaq is 2nd in scoring while leading Utah Valley in rebounding with 15.4 PPG and 15.1 RPG and Trey Woodbury is close behind in 3rd with 14.9 PPG as well as a team-high 4.9 APG this season to lead the Wolverines in the assist department. Evan Cole is also contributing 11.4 PPG to cap off the quartet of double-digit scorers for Utah Valley up to this point in the season. As a team, Utah Valley is averaging 75.5 PPG on 47.5% shooting from the field, 30.6% from 3-point land and 62.7% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 74.6 PPG on 44.9% shooting from the field and 36% from 3-point range this season.
Cal Baptist is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games and 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss. Utah Valley is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 4-12 ATS in their last 16 home games while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 Saturday games. The favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
The points with the Lancers would be worth a look on the surface with their offensive numbers, but Utah Valley just suffocated the Lancers in the opener and on such a short turnaround, I think we see more of the same as there’s not a whole lot of time to make major adjustments. I know the trend this season with back-to-backs has been to go the other way from the opening result but I’ve seen nothing from the Lancers that makes me want to back them here. I’ll lay the points with Utah Valley by default here.
