Loyola opened their year with a three-game winning streak before falling 77-63 to Wisconsin and 75-73 to Richmond. Since then it’s been four straight wins for the Ramblers. Those have come versus St. Francis IL, Illinois State (twice) and North Texas.
In last weekend’s 57-49 win over the Mean Green, Loyola’s Aher Uguak led the way on 26 points with seven rebounds and two assists. Cameron Krutwig added 12 points with six rebounds, and Cooper Kaifes chipped in six points for the Ramblers.
Over on the Indiana State side, they began the season at 3-2 with wins over Truman, Ball State and Southeast Missouri State. Since then it’s been four straight losses for the Sycamores. They’ve fallen 81-63 and 73-66 to Drake and 84-74 and 70-66 to Missouri State.
In last weekend’s loss to the Bears, Indiana State’s Randy Miller led the team on 17 points with two rebounds. Tyreke Key notched a double-double on 13 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, and Tre Williams chipped in 10 points with six boards.
The Sycamores are 0-4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 1-4 ATS in the last five home games. Indiana State is 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall and the under is 21-7 in their last 28 overall.
Meanwhile, the Ramblers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 as an underdog. Loyola is 13-6 ATS in their last 19 Sunday games and the over is 5-0 in their last five road games.
PICK: I’m sticking with Loyola here. The Ramblers have looked pretty sharp in their four-game win streak. Even though they scored just 57 points versus North Texas in their last outing, Loyola still held the Green to just 49 on the other side. Loyola has been scoring pretty well over their last five games otherwise, and if they get going here I don’t think the Sycamores can keep up.
