The Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens and the William & Mary Tribe meet Sunday in college basketball action from Kaplan Arena.
Delaware enters this one at 3-5 so far. As for William & Mary, they’re sitting at 3-5 as well this year. This will be a rematch of Saturday’s game featuring these teams. In that one, the Tribe managed a five-point win. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Delaware began the year at 2-1 with wins over Salem International and George Washington. After losses to La Salle and Morgan State, the Hens split a pair of games versus Charleston 70-67 (win) and 66-59 (loss) over the first weekend of the new year.
In Saturday’s game, Delaware took another loss, this time 67-62 to William & Mary. In that one, Dylan Painter led the Hens with 14 points, 15 rebounds and two assists on a double-double. Both Ryan Allen and Gianmarco Arletti added 13 points apiece with a combined nine rebounds. Ebby Asamoah added 11 points with three boards as well.
Over on the William & Mary side, they began at 2-1 as well, falling to Old Dominion and beating George Washington and Hampton. The Tribe went on a losing skid after that, and the losses piled up. Those came courtesy of High Point, Virginia and twice to Hofstra.
In Saturday’s victory, William & Mary’s top scorer was Quinn Blair with 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Connor Kochera posted 12 points with eight rebounds and Ben Wight added 10 points with four boards in 19 minutes on the floor.
The Tribe are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine home games. The under is 5-1 in William & Mary’s last six overall and the over is 36-18 in their last 53 home games.
Meanwhile, Delaware is 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight Sunday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. The over is 4-1 in the Hens’ last five Sunday games and the under is 6-2 in the last seven overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with William & Mary here. The Tribe didn’t shoot especially well in Saturday’s matchup, posting just 39.3 percent from the field. The key was a solid 43-33 rebound margin over Delaware which led to some second-chance points opportunities. this should be another good one, and I like the Tribe to keep it going with a big cover performance in the rematch.
