The Ole Miss Rebels and the Florida Gators meet in college basketball action from Exactech Arena on Tuesday night.
The Ole Miss Rebels will look to bounce back after falling to LSU in their last game by a final score of 75-61 last time out. Devontae Shuler leads the Rebels in scoring with 12.6 PPG along with a team-high 4.1 APG while Romello White is 2nd on the Rebels in scoring and rebounding with 6.4 RPG and 11.6 PPG this season. KJ Buffen has 10.1 PPG as well as 4.4 RPG, making up the trio of double-digit scorers for Ole Miss heading into Tuesday’s matchup with Florida. Luis Rodriguez also has 9 PPG and a team-high 7.4 RPG for Ole Miss this season. As a team, Ole Miss is averaging 72.4 PPG on 44.3% shooting from the field, 28.6% from 3-point range and 67.5% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 61.7 PPG on 39.6% shooting from the field and 34.4% from 3-point range this season.
The Florida Gators will look to bounce back from a 76-58 loss to Kentucky in their last matchup. Tre Mann leads the Gators in active scoring with 13.6 PPG to go along with team-highs of 5.6 RPG and 4.1 APG while Colin Castleton is 2nd in scoring with 11.1 PPG along with 5 RPG and Scottie Lewis has 11 PPG with 4.3 RPG and 1.5 steals per game to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Florida coming into this game. As a team, Florida is averaging 78.3 PPG on 47.4% shooting from the field, 38.6% from behind the arc and 71.9% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 71.9 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field and 37.3% from behind the arc this season.
Ole Miss is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 10-1-1 in their last 12 games overall. Florida is 10-21 ATS in their last 31 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. The underdog is 16-5 ATS in the last 21 meetings between these two teams.
I get why Florida’s favored at home as the Rebels just lost to an LSU team handily that the Gators beat handily as well as playing at home. However, the Gators have regressed in each game without Keyontae Johnson as he was the leader of this team and while he’s still on the bench, he’s not on the floor where the Gators need him the most and it’s shown. Ole Miss hasn’t had the best luck, but they’re tough defensively and can get after you on the break and I think getting this many points with the Rebels is worth the play here so I’ll take Ole Miss and the points in this matchup.
