The Bulldogs are coming off a win over Vanderbilt on Saturday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Texas A&M opened the year with three straight wins over New Orleans, Tarleton State and UTRGV before falling to TCU in game four. Since then it’s been a 3-3 run with victories over Southeastern LA, Wofford and Auburn alongside losses to LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee.
In the 68-54 loss Saturday to the Volunteers, Texas A&M’s Savion Flagg led the team on 12 points with three rebounds and one assist. The only other Aggies player to finish in double-figures there was Quenton Jackson with 11 points and three assists in 20 minutes on the floor.
Over on the Mississippi State side, they started their year at 3-2 with wins over Texas State, North Texas and Jackson State. After losing to Dayton the Bulldogs went on a three-game win streak before falling to Kentucky. Since then it’s been two wins over Missouri and Vanderbilt.
In the 84-81 win on Saturday over the Commodores, Mississippi State’s Iverson Molinar led the way on 24 points with eight rebounds and one assist. Tolu Smith posted 18 points with seven rebounds, and DJ Stewart added 16 points, four assists and three boards for the Bulldogs.
Mississippi State is 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine Wednesday games. The Bulldogs are 5-2 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss and the over is 4-0 in their last four overall.
Meanwhile, the Aggies are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games. Texas A&M is 2-5 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games and the under is 6-1 in the last seven road games.
PICK: I’m going with Mississippi State in this one. Texas A&M has faced a few tough teams in their last few games, and they’ve hit 70 points just once in their last seven outings. Mississippi State stumbled in a tough loss to Kentucky, but since then they’ve scored 162 combined points in victories over Missouri and Vanderbilt. I like the Bulldogs to keep it going and cover in this one; should be a fun matchup and a close game most of the way.
