Wofford enters this one at 6-4 so far. The Terriers are 3-1 in their last four games and coming off a win over UNC Greensboro. As for the Keydets, they’re sitting at 6-5 this season. VMI managed a win over Chattanooga on Saturday in their last game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Wofford opened up their season with a 2-2 record across their first four outings. The Terriers then went 3-1 in their next four, falling to Texas A&M while otherwise beating Coastal Carolina, Mercer and Samford. Since then it’s been a split pair of games versus UNC Greensboro.
In the 48-45 victory over the Spartans on Saturday, Wofford’s top scorer was Storm Murphy with 18 points, one assist and three rebounds. Sam Godwin and Max Klesmit each scored 10 points apiece there as well, combining for three assists and 11 rebounds for the Terriers.
Over on the VMI side, they began the year at 2-2 as well with wins over St. Andrews and Longwood. The Keydets then won three in a row over Greensboro, Hampton and CU Harrodsburg before a three-game losing streak. The Keydets managed an 84-79 win over Chattanooga on Saturday.
In the victory over the Mocs, VMI’s Jake Stephens and Greg Parham each led the team on 25 points, while combining for four assists and 14 rebounds. Kamdyn Curfman was also in double-figures for the Keydets on 17 points with five assists and three rebounds.
VMI is 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The over is 16-5 in the Keydets’ last 21 home games and 4-1 in their last five versus a team with a winning straight-up record.
Meanwhile, the Terriers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games. The under is 4-0 in Wofford’s last four road games and 7-3 in their last 10 Wednesday games.
PICK: I like Wofford a little better here. This should be a pretty interesting matchup. The Terriers are coming off an incredibly flat game versus UNC Greensboro, scoring just 15 points in the first half of the eventual win. Prior to that, Wofford had been scoring pretty well with 75 or more points in each of their previous three. VMI has hit 71 or more in both of their last two games, and I like this one to be a higher-scoring outing with Wofford pulling away in the second half.
