Presbyterian opened up the year with a 13-point loss to Jacksonville, but then managed wins over Carver and South Carolina State. The Blue Hose recorded losses 94-82 to the Citadel and 71-65 to Radford in their next pair, then got a 65-63 win over the Highlanders on December 31.
In the win over Radford, Presbyterian’s leading contributor was Rayshon Harrison with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists. Trevon Reddish and Brandon Younger each notched 12 points, combining for four assists and 14 rebounds for the Blue Hose as well.
Over on the Campbell side, they kicked off the year at 4-0 before a five-game losing skid to Elon, NC State, UNC Wilmington and Winthrop (twice). The Camels then split a pair of games versus Gardner-Webb and Longwood, the most recent coming Sunday in a loss to the Lancers.
In Sunday’s 78-69 loss to Longwood, Campbell’s Jordan Whitfield led the way on 23 points with three assists. Cedric Henderson added 17 points with three rebounds, and Milos STajcic also finished in double-figures with 10 points, seven rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes.
Campbell is 4-1 ATS in their last five at home versus a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a home favorite. The under is 4-1 in the Camels’ last five Thursday games as well.
Meanwhile, Presbyterian is 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The over is 7-1 in the Blue Hose’s last eight road games and 18-7-1 in their last 26 overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Campbell here. The Blue Hose have notched a few decent offensive outings this year, but they’ve been at 65 points or below in four of their six games. Campbell is coming off a bad second half against Longwood, coughing up 50 points and blowing an eight-point halftime lead. I like the Camels to bounce back with a better outing and bang out a cover in this one.
