Bowling Green started out the season on a nice 4-1 clip before losing to Wright State on December 13. The Falcons then rattled off five straight wins over Robert Morris, Ohio, Northern Illinois and Central Michigan before falling to Ball State on Tuesday in their last game.
In the 88-64 loss to the Cardinals, Bowling Green’s only double-digit scorer was Justin Turner with 18 points, five assists and four rebounds. Dylan Swingle managed eight points in eight minutes and Daeqwon Plowden chipped in six points and eight boards.
Over on the Bulls’ side. they began the year at 1-2 with losses to Army and Bowling Green. The Bulls then took out Mercyhurst and Miami-OH before losing to Syracuse. Since then, Buffalo has notched wins over Ball State and Western Michigan in the last week.
In Tuesday’s 85-69 win over Western Michigan, Buffalo’s Jeenathan Williams doubled up with 25 points and 14 rebounds with three assists. Josh Mballa, Jayvon Graves and Ronald Segu each scored 14 points, combining for five assists and 19 rebounds as well.
The Bulls are 3-0-2 ATS in the last five Friday games and 1-4-1 ATS in the last six home games. Buffalo is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 after an ATS win and the over is 6-0 in the last six games overall.
Meanwhile, the Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 5-16-3 ATS in their last 24 after an ATS loss. Bowling Green is 1-6-2 ATS in their last nine after a straight-up loss and the over is 19-8 in their last 27 road games.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Buffalo here. These teams matched up on December 6, and Bowling Green ended up with an 86-78 win. The Bulls were within two points at the half, but 52 points out of the Falcons in the second put the game away. Buffalo is 4-1 since then and has hit 81 or more points in every outing. I think the Bulls are ready for the rematch; this should be another great game.
