The Miami Hurricanes and the Syracuse Orange meet in college basketball action from the Carrier Dome on Tuesday night.

The Miami Hurricanes will look to build on a 78-72 win over Louisville last time out. Isaiah Wong leads the Hurricanes in scoring with 17.6 PPG and 6 RPG while Kameron McGusty has 10.2 PPG in 5 games and Earl Timberlake has 10.2 PPG to go along with 3 RPG. Elijah Olaniyi has 9.9 PPG while Harlond Beverly has 8.5 PPG with 5.7 RPG. Nysier Brooks has 6.7 RPG to lead Miami in rebounding this season. As a team, Miami is averaging 68.3 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field, 28% from 3-point range and 68.5% from the foul line allowing opposing teams to average 66.8 PPG on 40.7% shooting from the field and 36% from 3-point range this season.

The Syracuse Orange will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 96-76 loss to Pitt last time out. Alan Griffin leads the Orange in scoring with 16.7 PPG to go along with 7.3 RPG while Quincy Guerrier is right behind in scoring and tops in rebounds with 16.5 PPG and 9.7 RPG this season. Buddy Boeheim has 15.1 PPG with 3.4 APG while Marek Dolezaj has 11.6 PPG with 3.6 APG and 5.5 RPG. Joseph Girard III has 10.2 PPG with a team-high 4.2 APG this season, making up the group of double-digit scorers for Syracuse up to this point in the season. As a team, Syracuse is averaging 79.2 PPG on 44.1% shooting from the field, 31.5% from 3-point range and 78.4% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 71.3 PPG on 40% shooting from the field and 29.7% from 3-point range this season.

I get why you could lay the points with Syracuse at home as the zone defense can make the best teams come down to their level and Syracuse’s offense has really picked up this season compared to years past. However, banged up or not, all this Miami team done has kept games close and rise to the occasion when counted out. This just feels like too many points in what could be a 2-3 point game. Give me Miami and the points in this one.
