Kennesaw State enters this one at 3-11 so far. The Owls are riding a nine-game losing streak and fell to North Alabama in their last outing. As for North Florida, they’re 4-10 this year. The Ospreys are 2-1 in their last three and coming off a win over Lipscomb. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Kennesaw State began their year at 3-2 with wins over Carver, Toccoa Falls and Dalton State. Since then it’s been an eight-game losing streak for the Owls. They’ve fallen to Belmont, Samford, Mercer, Jacksonville (twice), Liberty (twice) and North Alabama (twice) in their last nine.
In Saturday’s 66-64 loss to North Alabama, Kennesaw State’s top scorer was Alex Petersen with 11 points and six rebounds. Chris Youngblood added 10 points with four rebounds and one assist, and Cole LaRue chipped in 10 points with two boards and one assist.
Over on the North Florida side, they opened their year with a seven-game losing streak culminating in a loss to East Carolina December 10. After a 2-2 run, the Ospreys are 2-1 in their last three games with a loss to Lipscomb and wins over Jacksonville and Lipscomb.
In Saturday’s 72-67 win over the Bisons, North Florida’s Carter Hendricksen led the team on 16 points with six rebounds and one assist. Both Jonathan Aybar and Jose Placer notched 11 points apiece, combining for eight boards and four assists for the Ospreys.
The Ospreys are 36-15 ATS in their last 51 games overall and 26-10 ATS in their last 36 after a straight-up win. The under is 5-1 in North Florida’s last six overall and 4-1 in their last five after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Owls are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games after an ATS win and 5-1 ATS in their last six raid games. Kennesaw State is 8-18 ATS in their last 26 games after a straight-up loss and the under is 16-5 in their last 21 road games.
PICK: I’m going to stick with North Florida. The Ospreys have been scoring well over their last three games, with 70 points or more in each outing. Kennesaw State on the other hand, has not seen more than 66 points in any of their last six games. If North Florida can’t get some shots to fall early this one might be pretty tight, but otherwise I think this is the Ospreys’ cover to hit.
