The Loyola Greyhounds and the American Eagles meet Saturday in college basketball action from Bender Arena.

Loyola enters this one at 0-2 so far. The Greyhounds have recorded losses to Lafayette in their first pair of outings. As for American, they’re 0-2 as well. The Eagles lost their first two games against Navy. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Loyola’s first game ended up as a 77-75 loss to Lafayette. Leading the scoring for the Greyhounds in that one was Brandon Bradsher with 21 points and three rebounds. Golden Dike added 15 points with eight boards and two assists, and Jaylin Andrews had 13 points with seven boards.

Game two on Sunday versus the Leopards didn’t go well either; a 72-70 Greyhounds loss. Topping the team was Santi Aldama with 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists, and Bradsher added 12 points, one rebound and one asset in 33 minutes on the floor.

Over on the American side, their first game was a near-miss in an 87-86 overtime loss to Navy on Saturday. Stacy Beckton was the leading Eagles scorer with 30 points, five abounds and two assists. Jamir Harris posted 20 points with four assists and two boards as well.

Game two Sunday was another loss for the Eagles, this time 71-59 to the Midshipmen. Johnny O’Neil topped American on 17 points with seven rebounds, and Beckton was also in double-figures there with 12 points, three rebounds and one assist in 32 minutes.

The Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall. American is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games and the under is 5-1 in their last six overall.

Meanwhile, the Greyhounds are 41-18 ATS in their last 59 Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. The over is 8-3 in Loyola’s last 11 road games and 5-2 in their last seven after an ATS loss.

PICK: I’m sticking with Loyola. The Eagles played valiantly in their first game, nearly shocking a pretty darn good Navy team. Game two wasn’t as great, though; the Eagles were down 33-24 at the half and didn’t get any closer. Loyola has a couple of good outings under their belt, and they’ve scored 145 combined points in their first pair. I like this one to be close for most of the game, with the Greyhounds eking out an eventual cover.
