The UNC Greensboro Spartans and the Chattanooga Mocs meet Saturday in college basketball action from McKenzie Arena.

The Spartans sit at 9-5 overall this year. UNCG has won three straight games versus Samford and the Citadel. As for the Mocs, they’re 12-4 this season. Chattanooga is 2-1 in their last three games with a loss to Wofford between wins over Mercer and Samford. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

UNC Greensboro opened up the year at just 1-3 with a win over Little Rock in their first game. The Spartans then went on a four-game win streak before falling to East Tennessee State. Since then it’s been a 4-1 run for UNC Greensboro, and they took out the Citadel on Monday in their last game.

In the 87-73 win over the Citadel, UNC Greensboro’s Isaiah Miller put up 30 points with 12 rebonds and three assists. Kaleb Hunter added 13 points and two boards, and Mohammed Abdulsalam had 12 points with 11 rebounds in 26 minutes for a double-double.

Over on the Chattanooga side, they opened their year with a nine-game win streak before falling to Furman on December 30. The Mocs are 3-3 in their last six, falling to VMI, the Citadel and Wofford while otherwise beating Samford, Mercer and Samford again during that time.

In Wednesday’s 70-64 win over the Bulldogs, Chattanooga’s Malachi Smith posted 16 points with nine rebounds and two assists. Both Darius Banks and David Jean-Baptiste notched 12 points apiece, combining for four assists and seven rebounds for Chattanooga as well.

The Mocs are 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four after an ATS win. The over is 7-3 in Chattanooga’s last 10 home games and 5-2 in their last seven Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Spartans are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven Saturday games. UNCG is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and the over is 8-1-1 in their last 10 road games.

PICK: I’m going to take a shot at UNC Greensboro here. The Spartans have notched some nice offensive numbers lately, posting 82 or more points in each of their last three games. As for Chattanooga, they’re still scoring well themselves but they’ve also coughed up a ton of points over their last half-dozen games or so. If UNC Greensboro can get into a nice offensive rhythm in the first half, I can see the Spartans keeping pace here. Should be a higher-scoring and fun game to watch.
