The Stony Brook Seawolves and the NJIT Highlanders meet in college basketball action from the NJIT Wellness and Events Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Stony Brook Seawolves will look to rebound after back-to-back losses to New Hampshire following a 67-64 loss to the Wildcats last time out. Frankie Policelli leads the Seawolves in scoring with 12.2 PPG while Juan Felix Rodriguez is right behind me with 12.1 PPG and a team-high 3.4 APG while Jaden Sayles has 10.8 PPG with 4.9 RPG and Tykei Greene has 10.7 PPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Stony Brook with Greene adding a team-high 6.1 RPG this season. As a team, Stony Brook is averaging 71.1 PPG on 45.2% shooting from the field, 33.5% from 3-point range and 64.1% from the foul line while giving up 69.3 PPG on 42.2% shooting from the field and 34.9% from 3-point land this season.

The NJIT Highlanders will look to snap a three-game losing skid after an 83-71 loss to Albany last time out. Zach Cooks leads the Highlanders in scoring with 14 PPG along with 5.8 RPG while Dylan O’Hearn is 2nd in scoring with 12.1 PPG and San Antonio Brinson has 11.6 PPG with 4.2 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for NJIT coming into this game. Souleymane Diakite has 7.7 PPG with a team-high 6.1 RPG as well this season for NJIT. As a team, NJIT is averaging 68.3 PPG on 40.8% shooting from the field, 32.8% from 3-point range and 70.4% from the foul line while allowing 71.6 PPG on 45.8% shooting from the fieid and 33.9% from 3-point range this season.

Stony Brook is 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss while the under is 7-3 in their last 10 Saturday games. NJIT is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games following a loss.

I get NJIT being favored because they’re at home, but NJIT is far from a world-beater, even at home as this Highlanders team just haven’t been convincing for much of anything this year. On the other side, Stony Brook hasn’t been home much but the Seawolves have made the most out of their road games, going 2-4 SU and 3-3 ATS and I think we have another close one on the cards here so I’ll take Stony Brook and the points in this one.
