The Idaho State Bengals and the Portland State Vikings meet Thursday in college basketball action from Stott Center.

Idaho State enters this game at 7-6 overall. The Bengals had a four-game win streak snapped by Sacramento State in their last game. As for Portland State, they’re sitting at 2-7 this year. The Vikings have lost four straight games, most recently to Montana State last week. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Idaho State began their year with four straight losses to Santa Clara, Nicholls State, UC Davis and Utah. After a three-game win streak, the Bengals took a five-point loss to Northern Colorado before toppling Northern Colorado, Northern Arizona and Sacramento State in their next four outings.

On Monday in the rematch with Sac State, the Bengals took a 70-65 loss. Leading the team in points was Tarik Cool with 19 points, four assists and two rebounds. Robert Ford was also in double-figures there with 16 points and four rebounds in 23 minutes on the floor.

Over on the Portland State side, their season started at 1-3 with a win over Northwest Washington and losses to Portland, Washington State and Weber State. After a win over Weber State, the Vikings have fallen to Oregon State, NW Nazarene and Montana State (twice).

In Saturday’s 69-64 loss to Montana State, Portland State’s James Scott put up 15 points with six rebounds and six assists. Khalid Thomas added 14 points with seven boards and two assists, and Amari McCray put up 13 points with six rebounds in 21 minutes of work.

Portland State is 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 6-0 ATS in their last six after an ATS win. The Vikings are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five Thursday games.

Meanwhile, the Bengals are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six road games and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight overall. The over is 12-5 in Idaho State’s last 17 road games and 19-8 in their last 27 overall.

PICK: I’m sticking with Idaho State here. The Vikings have a few good offensive performances under their belt this year, but they’ve been at 64 or fewer points in three of their last four—not including the loss to NW Nazarene. Idaho State is coming off a couple of pretty flat offensive games themselves. That said, the Bengals shouldn’t have a whole lot of trouble scoring against the Vikings and I think Idaho State can bang out a relatively easy cover if they play to their capabilities.
