The Montana Grizzlies and the Sacramento State Hornets meet in college basketball action from the Nest on Thursday night.

The Montana Grizzlies will look to rebound after a 62-58 loss to Northern Arizona as 13-point favorites last time out. Kyle Owens leads the Griz in scoring and rebounding with 11.4 PPG and 6.6 RPG while Michael Steadman has 11 PPG and 6.2 RPG to make up the duo of double-digit scorers for Montana coming into this matchup. Brandon Whitney has 9.9 PPG with 2.4 APG while Cameron Parker has 7.7 PPG as well as a team-high 3.9 APG this season. As a team, Montana is averaging 68.2 PPG on 46.2% shooting from the field, 35.6% from 3-point range and 78.6% from the foul line while giving up 61.7 PPG on 40.7% shooting from the field and 29.8% from 3-point range this season.

The Sacramento State Hornets will be looking to build on a 70-65 win over Idaho State that put the Hornets at 5-2 this year. Ethan Esposito leads the Hornets in scoring and rebounding with 16.9 PPG and 7.6 RPG while Christian Terrell is 2nd in scoring with 14.8 PPG along with 5.2 RPG and 2.4 steals per game. Bryce Fowler has 11.6 PPG with a team-high 4 APG and William Fitzpatrick has 11.4 PPG with 2.2 APG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Sacramento State coming into this game. Samaad Hector has 7.6 PPG with 6.7 RPG as well for the Hornets this year. As a team, Sacramento State is averaging 72.4 PPG on 46.2% shooting from the field, 36.7% from 3-point range and 70.5% from the foul line while giving up 58.3 PPG on 42.6% shooting from the field and 28.1% from 3-point range this season.

I’m worried maybe someone knows something with this line being as low as it is and with Montana laying the point on the road, but I’m going to guess that I know better. The Hornets have played just over half of the number of games that Montana has, but the Hornets have been strong at home, going 4-0 SU and 2-0 ATS this season. Montana’s just 1-5 SU on the road this season and I just don’t see the Grizzlies winning this one away from home. I’ll take the free point with Sacramento State in this spot.
