The Louisville Cardinals and the Clemson Tigers meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Littlejohn Coliseum.

Louisville enters this one at 10-3 so far. The Cardinals are 1-2 in their last three games and coming off a win over Duke. As for Clemson, they’re 9-4 this year. The Tigers have lost three straight, most recently to Florida State. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Louisville kicked off their year with four straight victories before taking a loss to Wisconsin. The Cardinals then dispatched Pittsburgh, Kentucky, Boston College, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest in succession. Since then it’s been losses to Miami and Florida State, then a win over Duke.

In Saturday’s 70-65 win over the Blue Devils, Louisville’s Carlik Jones posted 24 points with five assists and three rebounds. Jae’Lyn Withers added 13 points with seven boards in 28 minutes, and David Johnson had 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Over on the Clemson side, they came out of the gate with five straight wins before a loss to Virginia Tech. The Tigers beat Morehead State, Florida State, Miami and NC State in their next four but have since lost to Virginia, Georgia Tech and Florida State in their last trio.

In Saturday’s 80-61 loss to the Seminoles, Clemson’s John Newman was the only team player in double-figures with 12 points, four rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes. Chase Hunter chipped in nine points, and both Clyde Trapp and Al-Amir Dawes notched seven points apiece with a combined nine boards.

Clemson is 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss. The Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five overall.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up win and 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win. The over is 4-1 in Louisville’s last five overall and 5-2 in their last seven Wednesday games.

PICK: I’m sticking with Louisville. This is obviously not an ideal situation for either team, as this matchup was scheduled in haste after some postponement issues. In any case, Clemson has been on a skid over their last three games (against good teams, granted) with 65 or fewer points scored in each. The Cardinals weren’t great themselves versus Miami or Florida State, but did put together a pretty good effort against a struggling Duke team. This one will probably be close for most of the game but I think Louisville can pull it off.
